"Triggered by Trash in the Ocean (Pinktail Triggerfish)" is a thought-provoking and environmentally conscious assemblage that serves as a powerful commentary on the impact of ocean pollution. This unique artwork is meticulously crafted from non-recyclable trash and repurposed materials, skillfully arranged on a sturdy board. The central theme revolves around the plight of marine life. The use of non-recyclable trash highlights the detrimental effects of human consumption and waste on our oceans, drawing attention to the urgent need for responsible waste management and conservation. My choice of materials is intentional and serves as a reflection of our disposable culture. Plastics, buttons, and other discarded items are transformed into a visually striking representation of marine life, creating a paradox between the beauty of nature and the harsh reality of pollution. The repurposed materials used in the assemblage demonstrate the potential for transformation and renewal. By giving new life to discarded items, I encourage viewers to reconsider their relationship with the environment and to adopt more sustainable practices.
