The title is from a poem by Rilke: it expresses the ineffable dynamic that we are engulfed in. We cannot hold (on to) anything as all things change. This roil is delicious, and though it seems a fool's errand to try to express such a complex thought with plastic form, it seems a perfect fit for my voice. And so this painting urges us to let go, to give ourselves to the ever-changing air.
