DREAM: I saw this double-rainbow, glowing on a dark night. It was perched over the muddy landscape, in a desert after heavy rain. Maybe I wasn’t supposed to see it. It was made of light waves too low for human eyes (past ultra-red? past ultra-violet?)… In this dimension my eyes were extra-sensitive, like a mantis shrimp. It seemed so clear, it felt like a landmark, looked like a sign. I Google “rainbows at night” and I learn the word “moonbow”- a rainbow seen by moonlight. In a dream, a moonbow represents hope during troubling times. The thing I saw was like that, but the middle of night was pitch-black, and the bows themselves were BRIGHT. I can’t get them bright enough with this paint. I started this sketch last year, forgot, but just picked up and finished it now. Went Luddite and painted by fire at night, felt right. Breaking fast by posting. It might be a study for a bigger version. I think I need another.
