Acrylic on wood panel

This painting depicts a magical night time walk in the woods. Drawn upon the artists experiences of the french countryside, the illusion of night is created by using black gesso which gives a chalky matte surface that absorbs light. Contrasted with the sky composed of micaceous iron oxide which gives a slight sparkle. A collaged out line of two animals is barely visible among the trees, but coated in phosphorus paint, it glows in the bar. This painting is acrylic on 3D wood panel.
