Originally this painting had been a portrait of a Rohinga refugee woman in a veil. It remained unfinished and bouncing around the artists studio for 2 years with various additions never resulting in a clear solution. In early 2022 the artist picked up the wood panel and sought to paint a nun. A google search on photos of nuns lead her to a film still of Audrey Hepburn in the film 'A Nun's Story'. The artist was not raised in any particular religion and has had no first hand experiences with nun's in her life, and therefore has no negative or positive associations with the subject matter. However throughout the painting of this work, and the endeavoring to imbibe positive radiant energy from the young woman depicted, Price found herself thinking about the many women who have chosen to be Christs bride and live in a Convent.
