One of my earliest and most important equine "educators" was a grumpy Paint named Cody. After being given the rare opportunity to be the sole handler of a school horse, he is the first horse to show me how deeply a mutual bond between horse and rider can be. This image is one of first experiments abstracting the horse, and was first completed in 2009, and is tribute to the lessons he taught me. Further work was added in 2021 as I reimagined the image.
