I have walked by this building in Prospect Heights, a brownstone Brooklyn neighborhood, thousands, if not millions, of times over the past 20 years, and always admired its tower with a slate mansard roof and the Victorian clock in front of it. Whether in the morning or the afternoon, the light and shadows on the building create interesting shapes and angles. Many times I contemplated setting up my portable easel across the street, but Flatbush Ave is rarely a pleasant place to hang out for a few hours - heavy vehicular traffic and lots of pedestrians. Finally, I decided to take photos and paint in the comfort of my studio.
