About Patton Hunter “Life experiences, memories and emotions inform my work. Painting communicates on the most personal level and I think of it as a dialog with the viewer. It is my hope that the viewer can connect with the spirit of the work and interpret it through his or her own experiences. The "meaning" of the work then grows with each layer of interpretation." --Patton Hunter Patton teaches and exhibits in the Tampa Bay area and is known for her bold, imaginative style and diversity.  North Light Books featured her work in Incite 2: Color Passions (2015). Watercolor Artist Magazine awarded her work in the International Watermedia Showcase and work won the Silver award in ShowArt Magazine that same year. The Artist's Magazine named her one of the top ten artists (over 60 years of age) in the country one year and that same year, Watercolor Artist Magazine cited her in its December issue as one of 10 American artists to watch in coming years. Her work has also been featured in On View Magazine and Art and Beyond Magazine in 2012. Art workshops in the United States, Ireland, Italy, Greece, France, Mexico, and the Czech Republic have influenced her style and subject matter. Through study and experimentation, her diverse style has emerged and continues to move in new directions.  Patton is on the art faculty of the University of South Florida's Lifelong Learning program, has taught art workshops at the Morean Arts Center and other centers in St. Petersburg, and gives private instruction in her studio in St. Petersburg.  PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATION Signature Member of The International Society of Acrylic Painters and Florida Society of Acrylic Painters;  Art Faculty, University of South Florida Life Long Learning program; Florida Watercolor Society (Signature Member)  For two years, Patton lived aboard a 43-ft sailboat while she and a friend crossed the Atlantic and cruised the Azores, west coast of Europe, Ireland and the British Isles, spending the winter of 2003 in London. The artist now lives and works in her studio/loft and in her studio at the ArtsXchange in St. Petersburg, Florida. Though figurative work is her primary focus, she paints all subjects, believing that good art is a knowledgeable assemblage of color, line, value, and shape.
