Bret Shirley was born in San Jose, CA and lives and works in Brooklyn, NY. He received his BFA from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY and has participated in numerous residency and fellowship programs. His work is included in numerous private and public collections, including Texas A&M University, The Huntington Library, Museum and Gardens and MD Anderson Medical Center.
