Aislinn Janek is a mixed-media painter based in Astoria, NY. Since 2014, she has lived and traveled throughout Europe, notably in Albania, Kosovo, Greece, and Czechia, where she has been awarded artist residencies. She continues to exhibit her work in galleries nationally and internationally. Intercultural experience shapes her and continues to influence her mixed-media approach to her art practice.

Janek is interested in human universalities, intercultural relationships, and how language informs one’s sense of self. She is intrigued by the fragmentation of information caused by language barriers and how memories are created, stored, and altered over time.
In her work, Janek does not seek to provide answers but instead celebrates the desire to push the boundary from known to unknown.
