Artwork Requirements
Click/tap below to copy url
General Requirements
- You must be the sole creator of the work.
- The artwork must be ready to hang.
Dimensions Requirements
- Artworks must be flat.
- Heavy, textured brushstrokes are great.
- Flat collaged elements are fine.
- Artworks with significant relief elements are not permitted.
- Maximum height and width are 48 inches apiece.
- Maximum weight is 25 pounds.
Price Requirements
- The maximum price for works available for purchase is $10,000 USD.
Hanging Requirements and Recommendations
- Permissible hanging methods include:
- Hanging wires
- D-rings
- Saw-tooth hangers
- Directly on the stretcher bar
- Works on paper must be framed - or ready to frame in a timely fashion, ie; before a handoff with a collector would occur.
- For artists who primarily work on paper, we recommend that the artist keep a small collection of frames on hand that can accommodate their paper works of various dimensions.
- We also recommend that artists use light, inexpensive whenever possible. Collectors that purchase works on paper from Art in Res are likely to purchase more expensive frames that complement the artwork and their space.
Listing Artwork on Art in Res
- Titles are not required, but are recommended. If you leave the title field blank, your artwork will be displayed as "untitled" in various places on Art in Res.
- The main image is a head-on, front-facing image of your artwork that will be visible in the artwork browser. In the main image, try to keep white space around the artwork to a minimum. We don't have file size limitations for this image, but try to upload a reasonably high-resolution file in the ballpark of 3000-4000 pixels on the longer dimension (height or width).
- The hidden toggle allows you to hide an artwork from the browsing interface.
- You don't need to include a statement, but if there's anything additional you'd like to say about the artwork, you can write it here.
